Welcome to GeneratorJoe’s Home and RV generator page. We have dozens of RV and home generators from which to choose, and we are here to help our customers select the home or RV generator that will best meet their needs. To that end, we have developed this page to help educate you about selecting home standby and RV generators. There are several important factors to consider when buying home and RV generators. Among them are whether you want a portable or stationary generator and the amount of power you will require from you generator.
RV and standby home generators produce AC voltage, very similar to the voltage available in your home. The amount of power output that a home or RV generator produces is directly related to the generator engine’s horsepower. The amount of horsepower that a home or RV generator can produce is generally rated in watts.
We have provided information and developed a short tutorial to help you understand and determine your wattage requirements. Once you know what your wattage requirements are you can determine the size of generator you will need. In general, you will want a generator that can at least power the “essentials.” You will also want to allow additional room for other uses.

Selecting an RV generator is much like selecting a home generator and requires consideration of the cost, safety, security, setup and storage issues relative to your needs. We offer stationary RV generators from 2,500 watts (2.5 kW) to 12,000 watts (12 kW), in gasoline, propane and diesel and portable generators from 1,000 watts (1 kW) to 15,000 watts (15 kW) in gasoline, diesel, propane and natural gas. Review the chart we have provided to help make your decision. One true benefit of stationary generators is that they are automatic. Simply flip the transfer switch and within minutes you and your family will enjoy the light provided by your generator. We understand that the ultimate decision is up to you and that it depends on your specific needs. Regardless of what you decide, we are here to help you in any way we can.
If you are still undecided as to whether you want a stationary or portable home generator, simply call us. We can answer all your questions and help you select a generator that meet your needs and budget.
