Adjustable 1-3 second time delay to overcome
temporary utility outages.
-
5-minute time delay on retransfer, to allow
utility source to stabilize prior to
transferring the load back to utility.
-
Adjustable 0-4 second time delay while on
standby source to ignore momentary generator
voltage dips
-
10-second transfer to emergency time delay to
allow the generator to stabilize after starting.
-
15-second time delay after transfer to the
standby source, to ignore momentary voltage dips
on the generator during initial loading.
-
Adjustable 2 or 5-minute
unloaded running time delay for generator
cool-down before shutdown.
-
Fixed time delays helps make these switches
economical. If you require changeable time
delays use Series 300, see below.
-
Automatic units are mechanically held,
electrically operated utilizing a reliable,
field-proven single solenoid operator.
-
Manual units are mechanically held,
mechanically operated by a handle on the
side of the unit.
-
Manual models are identical to automatic
models except that operation is manually
initiated.
Ideal for those applications that have
manual start generators without provisions
for automatic engine start. We recommend
that customers use automatic switches which
can be operated in manual mode. You cannot
retrofit a manual switch to automatic in the
field.
-
Automatic
and manual units feature contacts that are
easily accessible for easy inspection and
preventive maintenance. Rated for standby
applications and intended for use only in
optional (non-critical) standby systems in
accordance with the National Electrical
Code. NEC/NFPA 70, Article 702. Note: Not
intended for emergency or life-support
systems.

Sequence of Operation |
|
See "Sequence of Operation" under
Additional Information for details. |
|
When utility power fails for just 3
seconds or more, the Series 185
Automatic Transfer Switch signals the
generator to start. |
|
In less than 30 seconds your electrical
power is restored and life returns to
normal. |
|
Once the Series 185 Automatic Transfer
Switch senses utility power has reached
an acceptable voltage level for a period
of time, it automatically reconnects
your home or business to commercial
power. |
|
It then smoothly shuts the generator
down after a one minute cool down period
to extend generator life. |
|
The Series 185 Automatic Transfer Switch
automatically performs a test to
simulate utility power failure every 14
days. |
|
The user-friendly control panel also
allows you to manually run a test at the
push of a button. |
|
LED indicators let you know the
availability of both power sources and
transfer switch positions. |
