• Automatic units are mechanically held, electrically operated utilizing a reliable, field-proven single solenoid operator.
• Manual units are mechanically held, mechanically operated by a handle on the side of the unit.
• Manual models are identical to automatic models except that operation is manually initiated. Ideal for those applications that have manual start generators without provisions for automatic engine start. We recommend that customers use automatic switches which can be operated in manual mode. You cannot retrofit a manual switch to automatic in the field.
•  Automatic and manual units feature contacts that are easily accessible for easy inspection and preventive maintenance. Rated for standby applications and intended for use only in optional (non-critical) standby systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code. NEC/NFPA 70, Article 702.
